Creative Parent's Golden Ones

About Creative Parent

Creative Parent is comprised of three phenomenal women who have a combined seventy plus years dedicated to enriching children's lives. Lucille, Donna, and Jeanne have each spent their adult lives perfecting their Creative Parenting techniques and philosophies to share with you. Get to know a bit about each of these women below.

Lucille Sheets

Lucille Sheets is a retired educator and a grandmother of three. Her thirty years in the classroom focused on her love of teaching drama and leading large scale field study trips. As a fifth, seventh, and eighth grade teacher she worked to foster the creative spirit and to develop "the whole child." During her career, she took her students to visit the mayors of the largest cities in the Northwest, and she worked with them to pass several bills of legislation. Among her professional accomplishments are inclusion in the Who’s Who of American Teachers, and recognition as a finalist in the US West Teacher of the Year, and the Neighborhood Association Citizen of the Year.

Outside the classroom, she has authored the book entitled, Location Learning: The Field Study Trip and spent many years teaching a Location Learning course at Portland State University. She has also coauthored several musicals that have been performed in various local productions.

She has guided her personal and professional life as a "creative parent" by her philosophy that: "Where I have been you go also... When it is your turn to choose the path I will follow."

She is currently teaching seventh graders in the Portland area as well as a course through the Heritage Institute that advocates and instructs on the power of field experiences.
